Happy day one of this year's challenge! Excited to see everyone's progress this year!

I have a utensil container than is compact and stays in my bag that I bring with me! I opted for compact and lightweight materials that don't feel like a burden to carry. It can be difficult to remember to repack the container in my bag when I wash the utensils, but I leave the clean items next to my bag to remember to pack everything together...

Bring a reusable cup or bottle everywhere i go, has become important. I always keep one in my car. Instead of buying a plastic bottle i can just grab that find a refill station

I'm a member of the SurfRider Foundation. They have an Ocean Friendly Restaurant initiative to support locations that do their part to be environmentally conscious as possible, from removing single-use plastics to sustainable ingredient chains. Our aquarium cafe easily hit all the requirements and is now a certified Ocean Friendly Restaurant!...

Starting day 1 with reflections on how to better: Illustrate the connectedness between human well-being and water/nature; Highlight our Aquarium's conservation priorities, but emphasize that we achieve more together; and Empower people to take action.​ Would love to hear everyone's suggestions!

The videos about recycling were eye opening.

Beginning by tracking my plastic waste for the week. I am pretty conscious about this already, but I am curious to see how what I do use adds up.

Compostable plastics are specifically designed to break down into humus, CO2, and water under specific conditions, typically in a commercial composting facility. Biodegradable plastics can break down naturally, but the rate and conditions can vary greatly, and they may not fully degrade or leave behind residues.

Why not! I cannot help to leave my footprints on our planet everyday. Why not do something to help our planet? I want to use what I am capable of or empowered to do to make a difference. That's my why; WHY NOT!
