Catch microplastics in laundry before they spread
Washing synthetic fabrics releases tiny plastic fibers that end up in our waterways. I will install a washing machine filter or use a microplastic-catching device to capture microplastics before they leave my home — and I will share what I did and why with others to inspire more sustainable laundry habits.

I haven't been as diligent as I would have liked to have been, but I check some boxes already - carry my water bottle, recycle curbside and at the hub, carry go containers and reuseable bags in my car, try to buy cotton or at the thrift store, buy soap sheets for laundry now, took some plastic containers to the thrift store and try to use glass, am looking into the microfiber filters for washing machines, pick up litter and recycle the plastic, am involved with a rights of nature group, contribute to environmental groups, speak up when I can about not using plastic water bottles particularly. I'm inspired to look for more ways since it all seems so little compared to the mountains of plastic used, including packaging is huge. -

I would rate the movie as well done, informational and disturbing as to what happened but also realizing we need to learn from indigenous wisdom. -

Even though I am eco-conscious, I still have lots of mainstream habits to rethink. Today I'm going to the Recycling and Reuse Hub www.cincinnatirecyclingandreusehub.org It's a great citizen-started space to recycle everything possible the city doesn't. Everytime I go (monthly) though, I'm reminded of how much plastic we use. So here's a picture of our recyclables (plus some litter recyclables I picked up) before I get my neighbor's to take down.
