Refuse, Reduce, Rethink

This July, let’s reimagine our relationship with plastic — not just in our daily choices, but in the systems that shape them. When we refuse what we don’t need, reduce what we can, and rethink what’s possible, we create a future where people and the planet can thrive together.

Plastic pollution affects our health, our ecosystems, and our future. Designed to last forever but often used for moments, plastic waste is one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time.

Beyond Plastic Ecochallenge 2025 is a 31-day journey throughout July where you’ll explore solutions to plastic pollution at multiple levels — from the personal choices you make each day, how we influence those around us, to shifting the larger systems we are part of.

As you curate your own Ecochallenge to refuse and reduce plastics for one month, you’ll choose Actions from four new categories:

● First Steps: Start with You - Learn and reflect to build meaningful habits and understand the impacts plastic has on our lives.
● Level Up: Influence Friends and Family - Model change and engage with people close to you.
● Lead the Way: Shape Your Community - Take action in the circles you live, work, and play.
● Change the Game: Shift Systems and Policies - Take steps to make sustainable choices more accessible for all.

No matter where you are on your sustainability journey, you’ll find meaningful actions in this Ecochallenge — from everyday habits to big-picture change. Explore our library of resources, get inspired by fellow participants on the Feed, and discover just how powerful your actions can be as we watch our collective impact add up.

Let’s go beyond plastic, together.

I've been tracking my plastic usage all month. If only I could be this consistent going to the gym. :(
